kelsall village markets

Since we launched in 2022, Kelsall Village Markets has developed into something of an institution in the village. Originally conceived primarily to provide an outlet for local small traders and crafters to sell their wares, it simultaneously offers residents the opportunity to 'shop local' and escape the rather sterile online shopping experience.

Each market event has 23 stalls selling everything from delicious locally produced food to splendid handmade crafts and homewares, plus unique gifts, and cards you won't find elsewhere. Our focus remains on offering a good balance of stall types, combining popular regulars with some new stalls to ensure some interesting variation from market to market.

To further establish the community spirit of each market, one of the stalls is offered free of charge to local clubs, societies, and organizations to help widen the awareness of the services and activities they offer. To date, the Kelsall Wellbeing Hub, Kelsall and District Rural Amenities Society, Kelsall OPAL Club, Kelsall Good Companions Club, Kelsall WI and Kelsall Churches have all attended and enjoyed the opportunity to interact with villagers and other visitors they may not otherwise have reached.

Finally, the 'Sip and Natter Tearoom' has proved extremely popular – not surprising since it offers free tea, coffee and soft drinks, a selection of newspapers and magazines to peruse and plenty of good company, all in a most convivial atmosphere.

For 2024, we will be running 4 seasonal markets – all on Saturday's 10am-1pm.

Spring Market – 23rd March 2024
Summer Market – 22nd June 2024
Autumn Market – 21st September 2024
Winter Market – 14th December 2024
