For many years St. Philip's and Kelsall Methodist Church have worked together in unity with joint services and events. Following the previous vicar of St. Philip's move from Kelsall in 2018, it became the ideal opportunity for the two churches to make a more formal agreement as Kelsall churches and appointed Revd. Susan Banks to be the Ecumenical Minister for Kelsall Churches. Revd. Susan was licensed at a wonderful welcome service in both churches on 3rd November 2019.

St. Philip's Church (Church of England)

'Connecting our Community with God'

St. Philips is the Church of England Parish Church for the village of Kelsall and is situated in the centre of the village on Chester Road, opposite the Community Centre. Postcode CW60SA. Our aim is to be:

  • committed to God
  • connected in worship and fellowship
  • concerned for our community

In 2020 St. Philip's underwent a major modernisation project to improve the internal space to make it much more suitable for modern day worship and events. This entailed the removal of the pews and choir stalls and replacement with chairs, the addition of a toilet extension to the porch, repairs to the chancel and floor, the installation of a kitchen area and storage space at the rear of the church behind screening created from the old pews and east window reredos, and new liturgical furniture and font.

Place of welcome, a session open to all providing refreshements and company, takes place on Wednesday afternoons.
