Duke of Edinburgh

Kelsall D of E Group provides opportunities for local young people to take on all levels
(Bronze, Silver and Gold) of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

We provide training and equipment to facilitate Expeditions in North Wales, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District along with Day Hikes locally as preparation.In addition, young people get credit for learning new skills, volunteering and sport activities.

The groups has been running since 2008 and have had many successes with hundreds of young people receiving awards over the years.The programme starts with Bronze level in Year 9 (age 14). Those of our participants who go all the way to the Gold level normally manage to complete this before their A-levels!

WE NEED MORE LEADERS AND VOLUNTEERS
We need help with training, checkpoints, transport, overnight camping supervision etc in order to sustain our group in the years to come .
Training will be given but any knowledge and experience of Map Reading, Compass Work, First Aid, Survival Techniques, Camping and Hiking would be very useful .
